Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one time, without having to switch devices. They can also reduce space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer for its relatively modest price, and it's one of the most simple robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you up and running with a clean, complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. automatic vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are also excellent and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed, and which obstacles it's avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. It's not like the model from last year this one has two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pick up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then automatically change its path and clean around them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is striking and has just three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal 350ml of dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can change the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track battery life. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum removes the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use, with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access low-profile furniture which makes it a great choice for small apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice touch that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Contrary to other robots which solely focus on one task, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or individually. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and user-friendly, and the X40's smart features are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also tell when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive available, but it packs in many extra features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature of its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app, or via buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers a variety of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with several features that aren't offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it feels robust and well built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
